Meet Vasyl Vasylovych. An incredible, handsome cat with a difficult fate.

Once he suffered greatly at the hands of a human. When we found him, Vasyl Vasylovych was in an extremely severe condition. He spent almost half a year in the clinic, and all that time we fought for his life. And we won. ❤️

Today he is a big handsome cat weighing about 5 kg. He is very independent and has a true feline personality. He loves affection and attention, but comes for them when he wants to. And that's Vasyl Vasylovych for you. 😊

He has one special condition — feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Unfortunately, this diagnosis stays with him for life. It does not stop Vasyl Vasylovych from living, enjoying life, loving, and being an ordinary house cat. His future family just needs to know about this condition, protect him, and be responsible about his health.

We are looking for a family for him without other cats.

For four years now, Vasyl Vasylovych has been living in our shelter. For four years, no one has said: "I'm taking you home."

And he so deserves to finally become someone's cherished pet. After everything a human did to him, he deserves to meet another human — one who will never betray him again.

💔 Meet Ryzhyk — our handsome old boy who survived terrible human cruelty. He was brought to us from another city. Ryzhyk was shot at, multiple times. One of the bullets hit his spine and paralyzed him. He lay in one position, unable to get up and barely able to move. The chances were extremely slim, but we couldn't give up on the only chance to save him. Ryzhyk underwent complex spinal surgery. Part of the damaged tissue and discs had to be removed. And he persevered! Today, our boy walks and even runs on his own, albeit a bit clumsily. The consequences of the injury will stay with him forever, but the most important thing is that he is alive and didn't give up. Ryzhyk is about 10 years old. In addition to the severe injury, he was diagnosed with dirofilariasis. Due to his health condition and the high risks of anesthesia, he has not been neutered for medical reasons. Even the spinal surgery could have been his last, but without it, he simply wouldn't have survived. Ryzhyk didn't just suffer at the hands of people — someone tried to kill him. Yet despite everything he has endured, he deserves to spend his golden years not in a shelter, but beside a loving person: in warmth, peace, and safety. 🙏 I truly want to find him a family that will accept him just as he is and give him a dignified old age. Meet our Magda — a girl with a spinal injury. ❤️‍🩹 When we first met Magda, she was in critical condition. Ahead of her lay a long and difficult path of treatment. Magda spent almost half a year in the clinic: the doctors restored the function of her internal organs and later performed spinal surgery. We believed until the very end that she would be able to stand on her paws again. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Magda cannot walk on her hind legs, but this does not stop her at all from living, rejoicing, and showing everyone her spirited personality. And our girl's personality is quite something! Magda is stubborn, capricious, willful, and terribly spoiled. A real little fluffy terrorist! 😄 Our spinal-injury animals live in specialized foster care where they receive the necessary daily care: massages, procedures, hygiene routines, and lots of attention. Magda is constantly carried around in arms, hugged, kissed on her tummy, and has almost all her whims fulfilled. So it's no wonder she now considers herself a true queen. We truly hope that one day a family will be found that won't be scared by her special needs and complex character. A family that will accept Magda just the way she is and give her a real home. But while she remains in our care, Magda really needs a financial sponsor — someone who can cover at least part of the monthly expenses for her upkeep. Magda requires special care, a specialized diet, daily procedures, and hygiene products. All of this costs a considerable amount of money. Since 2018, she has been fighting skin lymphoma. Five long years of treatment, countless procedures, chemotherapy courses, complications… Five years of fighting for her life. And in 2023, we got what we fought so long for — we defeated this terrible disease.

Unfortunately, despite all the doctors' efforts, restoring his ability to walk was not possible. But Yanin didn't stop loving life. He is an incredibly gentle, kind, and at the same time slightly capricious boy. He knows very well that the shelter staff adore him, so he is used to being the favorite and always getting the tastiest treats. Yanin moves around on his front paws, and a special wheelchair would be ideal for him. He goes to the bathroom on his own, but needs proper care, a balanced diet, and daily massages. They are necessary to keep his muscles relaxed and his paws mobile. Living with a pet with a spinal injury is a big responsibility. Yanin won't be able to manage without human help, but in return, he will give boundless love, trust, and devotion. I really dream that one day a family will be found for Yanin who will see not his disability, but his big heart. Because every animal deserves a home. And Yanin is no exception.

Meet our beauty Luna 🐾 In 2022, I saw her on the street — pregnant and hungry. I started feeding her, and later locals mentioned that Luna had an owner, but he led a troubled life and barely cared for her. I found him and explained that the best solution would be to spay the dog. The man agreed and handed Luna over to us. We spayed and vaccinated her, and after her temporary stay, I took the girl back. However, upon arriving, I learned from the neighbors that her owner had passed away. They immediately made it clear: no one needed Luna there, and no one welcomed her return. I couldn't abandon her to her fate — that's how she ended up at our shelter. For four years now, we have been looking for a real family for Luna. She is about six years old. She is exceptionally smart, loyal, and a true protector. At first, Luna lived in very poor conditions, and then in the shelter. But she still doesn't know what it's like to have a home of her own, warmth, care, and the love of her human. Please give this incredible girl a chance. He is big, kind, and really loves tasty treats 🤍 In 2022, the guys evacuated his mom and tiny puppies from frontline positions. She gave birth to 13 babies, but unfortunately, enteritis took the lives of ten of them… We managed to find a home for one boy, while Izzy and his brother stayed at the shelter. They are true twins — looking like two peas in a pod. Izzy is a very gentle and tender boy. He is in great need of love, care, and his own human. Fate has already given him a chance at life. She used to have a home, and it shows in her every move. Unfortunately, her owners abandoned her. But despite everything she has been through, Marta still hasn't lost faith in people. 🥺 She needs a special home — quiet, calm, and safe. A person who will be by her side, won't rush her, won't demand instant trust, but will simply love and protect her. Marta deserves her chance. A warm bed, caring hands, peaceful mornings, and a life where she no longer has to be afraid. She has already survived her hell. Meet Black — our handsome boy 🖤 His fate has not been easy. Back when he was just an adolescent, someone threw him out onto the street. He came to us: we rescued him, neutered him, vaccinated him, and found him a family. It seemed that Black would finally have a happy life… However, the family turned out to be dysfunctional. Black was almost dumped on the street again. That is how he experienced human betrayal for the second time and returned to the shelter. Black is a very active and energetic boy. He loves long walks, movement, and adventures. He also easily clears fences around two meters high, so his future family must definitely take this into account. By the way, his best friend is Dusya, who is also featured in our profile. They have a wonderful time together and love to play. Despite everything he has been through, Black hasn't lost his love for people. He is very gentle, adores attention and affection, and dreams of being close to his human. Unfortunately, giving him as much warmth as he needs at the shelter is almost impossible: there are many animals and very few people. Black misses human love terribly. 🐻 Meet Barney — our big, fluffy teddy bear. His life began on the streets. Barney was born to a homeless dog in a place where animals are not loved: they are chased away, mistreated, and even killed. If the little ones had stayed there, they would have had almost no chance of surviving. The puppies were so frightened and feral that they hid from people in burrows. To save Barney, his sister, and his brother, we literally had to dig them out of there. Fortunately, we succeeded. Shortly after, the little ones fell ill with enteritis. Another tough battle began — this time for their lives. We treated them, worried, and believed that they would definitely recover. And they pulled through! Today, Barney is a big, incredibly handsome boy. He has grown up, finished his treatment, and is vaccinated and neutered. Only memories remain of that terrified puppy hiding in a hole. Now Barney needs the most important gift of all — a loving family. People beside whom he will never again know hunger, fear, or cruelty.
